ESCUDERO: “IN THE FIRST-HALF WE WERE SUPERIOR”

Sergio Escudero was the first to analyse defeat to Atlético Madrid this Sunday night, with the left-back arguing the side was "superior in the first-half. They found a goal with a mistake and a Griezmann wonder goal but we dominated the first-half. Because of those goals, the second-half was more difficult for us. We have to analyse the match well and focus on those minutes in the first-half where we were superior. It was also clear in the game that we didn't take the chances we had and they created chances and took them". 

"It was a tough game but we're ready to play that kind of match and we showed it in the first-half", he said. 

Asked about the support of the fans - which even in the face of embarrassing defeat never waivered - he said: "the fans are there, they push us and it's impressive. We have to thank them for having supported us even losing as we were. We deserved another goal". 

The defender was confident about the side's ability to recover in the table: "There are lots of points still to play for, we're going to try".
