SARABIA SCORES IN FOUR CONSECUTIVE GAMES

After the understandable bad taste left in the mouth after defeat against Atlético this Sunday, consolations could be found in the dying minutes of the game, with goals from Nolito and Pablo Sarabia - the latter of whom continued in his rich vein of goalscoring form, only consolidating his status as one of the in-form players in the Sevilla squad. Though the Madrid-native had little reason to celebrate the goal that finally robbed Oblak of his clean sheet, Sarabia will be able to look back on it with pride in affirming a spectacular start to 2018. In squad rankings, Sarabia is now the second highest scorer with eight goals (one more than Muriel) and only behind Wissam Ben Yedder, who has 17. Correa finishes off the top four with six goals to his name. 

Since Montella's arrival in the Sevilla dugout, Sarabia's offensive contribution has only become more impressive. In 2017 the ex-Getafe man had only managed two goals, in the first-leg of Sevilla FC's Copa del Rey win against FC Cartagena and against CD Leganés in La Liga in the Sánchez-Pizjuán. However, a new year has given the attacking midfielder a new lease on life and has seen Sarabia quadruple his stats. 

On the 20th of January he opened the scoring at the Cornellá -El Prat, before scoring again three days later in the second-leg of the Copa del Rey quarter-final against Atlético Madrid. His run wasn't to end there; continuing in his lethal goalscoring form, Sarabia has now scored in four consecutive games: against Eibar, Girona, Las Palmas and Atlético Madrid once again. Only missing a goal against Getafe to round off a run of six finding the back of the net, the Sevilla man will now be looking to continue his streak. Chalking up five assists in 2018 as well, Sarabia has broken through as a first-team staple this season and doesn't look much like relenting in his quest to make the Sánchez-Pizjuán right-wing his very own.
