Joquín Caparrós gave his impressions of his first hours as Sevilla FC coach: "I'm very happy and that's not just something to say or an effort to be politically correct. I see a group with a great disposition and one that's eager to break the dynamic and is aware of what we're playing for. I knew the quality and the talent of the players and we'll see if things come out as we want".
Beyond his coaching methods, he knows that the key is within the squad: "At the end of the day the players dictate the quality of training. You can prepare everything well but they are the ones that make the difference. These first two trainings have been good". He also confirmed that the tactical set-up is almost finalised: "We're not going to change too much. A few things but nothing more. What we have to do is take it step by step and not think beyond Friday. We have all focus set on that first match".
Finally, after seeing the players, he said problems were more to do with group spirit than fitness: "I now have a data analysis. The medical team tell me that all the players are fine, they aren't tired as many have suggested from outside. It's a matter of spirit and in that sense we already have won something big. I wanted that information and we're going to try and reinforce that mental aspect. It's imperative to break the dynamic of a bad spell of results".
