This Tuesday Renato Dirnei was a guest speaker on SFC Radio's Sólo el Sevilla and the programme wanted to take the opportunity to wish the Sevilla legend a happy 39th birthday. The Brazilian hasn't forgotten his time spent in Nervión, confessing "since I arrived in Brazil I've always been on the lookout for Sevilla, whenever they're on the TV I'm watching. I am a huge fan of the club...I am proud to have played at Sevilla, I was there for seven seasons, seven very happy seasons. I can't thank Sevilla FC enough for making me a huge footballer in Europe".

"It was amazing for me, to come to Europe and be part of Sevilla's beautiful history, winning six titles. I left the club with titles and I am lucky enough to be etched in the Club's history".

"I think the team needs to be happy following their qualification for the Europa League because it's tough to maintain such a high standard, but Sevilla have done so"

Renato also praised Sevilla FC's season: "I was very excited for this year, I was so pleased with regards to the Champions League, they played a great game against Bayern but they didn't manage to qualify, they couldn't make history this time, but I was impressed with the team. In La Liga things haven't gone as everyone had wished and I think Sevilla could have done a little more. However, I think the team needs to be happy following their qualification for the Europa League because it's tough to maintain such a high standard, but Sevilla have done so. The excitement for next year will be great and I hope that the current coach stays (laughs). Sevilla are in good hands".

"He brought me here, he treated me well and allowed me to grow as a player, he understands the Club. I am so grateful to him".

He also had a few words on the coach, his first coach in Europe: "He brought me here, he treated me well and allowed me to grow as a player, he understands the Club. I am so grateful to him".

To finish, the Brazilian commented: "I have a lot of love for all of the fans, and I'm hoping for a great 18/19 season for all Sevillistas, full of happiness. Let's see if we can win the Europa for the sixth time".
