After the shock had passed, Sergio Escudero is facing up to his injury to his left elbow with positivity. He appeared before the club's media this morning, after the floral offering in memory of Antonio Puerta, who passed away 11 years ago. 'I'm feeling pretty good, I've a bit of pain, but for what it could have been I feel good. In around a week when it's not as inflamed they'll do another test to completely rule out a fracture. So I'm just waiting for that and hoping it's all ok.'
ESCUDERO: 'ALL THE SUPPORT YOU RECEIVE GIVES YOU AN EXTRA PUSH TO FACE UP TO YOUR INJURY'
Escudero admits that 'at first I was really shocked because nothing like that had ever happened to me, but after that everything was ok because I've received so much support from so many people and that helps you a lot, it gives you an extra push to face up to your injury.'
Elaborating on the support he has received, Escudero said 'I didn't expect to receive so much support and love. I want to thank everyone, because this is a tough time and seeing that people are supporting you gives you more strength to face up to it in the best way possible.
He assures us that 'one of the things that hurts me the most is missing the important game on Thursday and the derby, which is a special, beautiful game. But I'll be there behind my teammates supporting them.'
