JESÚS NAVAS: 'THIS STADIUM IS WHERE I HAVE GROWN UP'

The right-winger, Sevilla FC's captain and the player with the most appearances in the club's history, attended the stadium's sixtieth-anniversary event

Jesús Navas, attending the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán's sixtieth-anniversary event, said some emotional words about what the Nervión stadium has been, and continues being, for him: 'I've been coming to this stadium since I was a little boy, it's where I've grown up and become what I am today.'

The legend recalled moments ingrained into his memory, like 'that day when my teammate and eternal friend, Antonio Puerta, opened the door to the best stage of our history.'

Sevilla's captain, and the player with the most appearances in the club's history, also related how 'in the Sánchez-Pizjuán, the stadium of my heart, I've learned that giving up is not an option, you can never stop fighting and that dreams do come true, especially when the fans and players dream together.'

'I've grown up here and become the player I am today'

Navas remembered old teammates with whom he shared so many matches in the Sánchez-Pizjuán, 'great Sevillistas like Pablo Alfaro, Javi Navarro, David Castedo, Andrés Palop, Julien Escudé, Ivica Dragutinovic, Renato Dirnei, Enzo Maresca, Álvaro Negredo, Luis Fabiano and Frederic Kanouté.'

Sevilla's captain ended his speech promising to continue to dream of bringing more success to the Sánchez-Pizjuán and added that, as he previously chanted, 'you cannot move me from Sevilla's pitch.'
