A happy day for the Czech Republic after the Central European side's first win in the UEFA Nations League. A victory won in neighbouring Slovakia, which adds to the already important win in itself. Our goalkeeper, Tomás Vaclík, started and was key in the win as Slovakia showed a lot more in attack than the Czechs did.
However, the Czechs were the first to score through a goal from Krmencik at the start of the second-half. Hamsik equalised shortly after, profiting from Vaclík's parry at point-blank range from Nemec. However, Shick, fifteen minutes before the end, would end up getting the win for the Czech Republic which keeps them in contention for first place in their group. Ukraine have six points which leave Slovakia in last place with zero. The Czechs play against Ukraine on Tuesday in an attempt to secure first place in the group to finish off the international break.
