Even if all seems lost, Nervión never surrenders. After so much debate about the team's performances away from home, the team returned to home this weekend to play Eibar. After a tough first half for Sevilla, with Orellana putting Eibar in front, the good start to the second half did not reap its rewards and Charles even made it 2-0 from a set piece. Banega was sent off, Kike García made it 3-0 before it was ruled out for offside; it seemed impossible to get anything out of the game, but the Sánchez-Pizjuán's magic had other ideas. With more heart than strategy, Ben Yedder and then Sarabia managed to equalise. And there were even chances at the end for the win.

The game began with an offensive Sevilla with Sarabia putting it just wide after a good exchange with Ben Yedder on the left. The midfielder shot close to Riesgo's left post, but from then on Eibar pushed forward and began to take charge. Their clearest chance came on 10 minutes with Diop shooting over Vaclík's goal. These were warning signs that would eventually end up with Eibar scoring in a great bit of play from Orellana. He won the ball off Mesa on the edge of the box, dribbled past Kjaer, beat out Carriço in a physical duel and calmly put it past Vaclík.

From there on Sevilla did react but not enough to get the equaliser. Eibar felt the hard work was done and remained solid, relying on Orellana to worry up front. The clearest chances until the break did come from Sevilla however. On the half-hour mark Escudero sent a volley wide of the goal. Shortly after, Sarabia crossed it into Ben Yedder whose shot was blocked just in time by Riesgo.

The team came out spurred on and they controlled play in Eibar's half. Sevilla were having luck down the wings with a good run from Quincy Promes and shortly after one from Sarabia which ended in a shot from André Silva which hit Ramis, allowing Riesgo to easily save it. Eibar were rattled by the Sevilla attack but the Nervionenses were unable to find the final pass. Nevertheless, it seemed as if the equaliser was coming with Sevilla increasing in confidence. Or at least that was how it seemed.

The what-seemed-to-be hammer blow came when Sevilla most deserved the equaliser through a set piece. With Vázquez just coming on for Roque Mesa - with Navas coming on for Escudero earlier on - the corner was sent to the back post for Arbilla to head it on to Charles who arrived unmarked to head it in. It was a massive disappointment for Sevilla who found themselves in a very complicated situation with fifteen minutes to go. Machín made his last change with Bryan coming on for Carriço in a last attempt to get the comeback, but Eibar, at least as it seemed, were in control.

Bryan was lively but the game was coming to an end and it did not look like Eibar would let go of their grip on the game. To make matters worse, Banega was sent off with five minutes to go, meaning he will miss next week's game against Villarreal. However, Sevilla never surrender and managed to get back into the game through a clever pass from Sarabia to Ben Yedder who finished calmly. There were six minutes injury time and the crowd had hope to achieve what seemed impossible... But Nervión does not deal in impossibles and pushed the team on to change things. The equaliser arrived through a cross from Promes with Sarabia managed to knock past Riesgo.

There were even chances to win the game but the game finished in a 2-2 draw. With everything seemingly lost, the team win a point to maintain distance between them and Getafe before visiting Villareal next week. Before that, however, we have our trip to Rome to play a Lazio who have been improving in 2019. A perfect chance to win away from home in La Liga and keep high up the table.
