Sevilla FC's manager, Pablo Machín, was interviewed following his team's defeat against Villarreal CF: 'It's not a good feeling, no one likes to concede three goals, that's undeniable. We played poorly. If we analyse the game in more depth, we can see that in the first half we didn't do the things we want to. We tried to correct the mistakes we'd been making during the break. We were better in the second half.'
MACHÍN: 'THE ONLY WAY TO WIN IS BY SCORING GOALS AND WE'RE FINDING THAT DIFFICULT'
'We had few shots on goal. In any other period during the season, we'd have scored a few goals with twenty shots. That's why I'm hurt and annoyed, but the path we need to follow to get better results is to play, for the most part, how we played in the second half when we were the better team. The only way to win is to score goals and we're finding that difficult. If you have twenty shots in every game you'll eventually score,' stated Machín.
The results away from home could affect the player's mentality: 'We are professional, the team has played very well in other grounds and just not been able to get the win, although at the moment we are not playing well either. We went for it in the second half, we had chances to get back into the game to go for the draw but it wasn't to be. In the end, you end up more and more disorganised and there's always the chance for the opponent to get the third on the counter which killed us. We have experienced footballers and we know the psychological aspect of the sport is key. At the end of the season, we are going to be right up there in the table.
