The Ordinary and Extraordinary General Assembly of the Federation of Peñas San Fernando took place this Monday. The meeting, which took place in the José Antonio Sánchez-Araujo press room as is tradition every year, was attended by many representatives from fan clubs to speak about the club.

The assembly was opened by the club's General Director, José María Cruz, who spoke to the fan club members to explain the club's future plans and to ask them for their close collaboration.

Cruz focused his speech on the club's objective to keep on improving its infrastructure. He said that 'in the coming years there will be a renovation in the Gol Norte and Sur and this summer the Grada de Preferencia will be reformed so as to prepare the stadium to host the 2021 Europa League final.' Likewise, he stated that 'whether or not they give us the final, our intention is to begin new building work in the Grada de Preferencia which will begin in May or June.'

Continuing speaking about the Sánchez-Pizjuán, he spoke about other reforms that have not yet been officially approved but are in consideration: 'The next project, which is not fully decided yet, would be making the top part of the stands larger to allow us to think about the Sevilla FC of the next 15 years.'

'Sevilla has the potential to reach one hundred thousand members, although obviously there would not be room in the stadium for each of them to have a seat'

And if the work on the stadium is important, the work to be done on the training village is no less important: 'The training village project is to finish it. Urbanise it, line it with trees and greenery, install better lighting, easier access points, more pitches, better facilities and moving all of the club's offices over there, something which the Board should approve in the coming months so that we can bring it to fruition in two or three years. This would be a massive investment for the club.'

Another message Sevilla FC's General Director insisted upon during his speech was the fan club's collaboration with the club: 'The relationship is pretty positive but we have to take a step forward in what is an important moment for the club, we have to give it another push. We have to intensify things; we would like that the vast majority of fan club members would be season-ticket holders or members of the club. We feel that Sevilla FC has the potential to reach 100,000 members although obviously there would not be room in the stadium for each of them to have a seat,' stated José María Cruz, finishing his speech before answering questions from the attendees.

During the assembly, in which the president of Aficiones Unidas was present, the budget was passed after its reading by the treasurer Jesús Márquez. Afterwards, golden badges were awarded to Julián Chacón (Peña Sevillista Costa del Sol), Antonio Álvarez (Peña Sevillista de Puerto Real) and Antonio Sánchez (Peña Sevillista de Bellavista), with a special mention for Jesús Moreno (Peña Sevillista Puerta Osario).
