There has been another change in the timetable for the last matchday of the league. After a round of matches in which staying in the league is at stake, there will be another round in which Europe is at stake. This is the second change in the timetable by La Liga, after the match was initially changed from 18:30 to 20:00 on Saturday. Sevilla FC-Athletic Bilbao will be played on Saturday at 16:15.

After the results of the penultimate matchday, the Nervionenses have been paired with other games in which European qualification is at stake. Caparrós' men still can qualify for the Champions League should they beat Bilbao and both Valencia and Getafe lose. A draw would have Sevilla in sixth place and a defeat would have them drop down to seventh.
