The captain spoke about missing out on the Champions League: 'We were just a few points off but our attitude was always there'

Jesús Navas was interviewed following Saturday's game against Athletic Club. The captain began by saying 'we wanted to get the three points in this game and dedicate it to the fans. It's been a long season and we fought until the end.' Speaking about the other results, he stated, 'we did our part, all we could do was hope.'

Navas' season isn't over yet as he has international duty to attend to: 'I'm very happy to be with the national team. It's the absolute pinnacle and I'm going there full of energy and desire.'

The captain finished off by praising the team's work despite not making it into the Champions League: 'We were just a few points off but our attitude was always there.'
