Brazilian centre-back Diego Carlos - after signing the contract that will commit him as a Sevilla FC player for the next five seasons - wanted to say his first words as a blanquirrojo: "It's a big step in my career, I'm very happy. I cannot wait to be able to get started, I'm very eager and I hope we can do a good job at this Club".
DIEGO CARLOS: "IT'S A BIG STEP IN MY CAREER, I'M VERY HAPPY"
"I already know the history of Sevilla, above all in the Europa League where the team has won five titles, and I hope that this year I can help the team in the best possible way", he said.
"I'm really grateful for the welcome I've received"
Though he had only been in the Andalusian capital a matter of hours, Carlos already seemed impressed: "Everything they told me is true, the city is magnificent and the Club is great. The people who work here are really sincere and I hope I have a great time here. I was welcomed really well and I'm really grateful to everyone".
The centre-back explained what he was looking for in the move: "My aim here is to give the best of myself and help Sevilla in the best possible way. And to win titles, because I've seen it's tradition here to look to win the Europa League".
"Getting into the Brazil squad is an aim. I think I can get closer while I'm here"
To finish up, Carlos reiterated how big a step this is for him, and his ambition to achieve a call-up for Brazil: "Like I said at the start, it's a big step in my career. It's an objective and I think while I'm here I can be closer to the Brazil squad. I hope I have a good year and hope I can reach the Brazil squad".
