The prestigious New York Times, one of the leading media sources in the world, sent one of its journalists to Sevilla in June. The aim, telling both its North American and international readers about Sevilla FC's 'secret'. Beyond the sentiment that many fans feel for the club both inside and outside the city, the club has become a subject of study on a business level, based on its spectacular growth over the last two decades.
The journalist Rory Smith spent a few days in the city, visiting the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán, the training ground, and talking with those behind the 'secret'. After spending a day during the transfer window shadowing Monchi, the sporting director, Smith wrote an article detailling the recent successes of the club and the work that takes place behind the scenes, and considered Sevilla FC's work to be amongst the best.
Other key members of the organisation, from José Castro, the president himself, to José María Cruz, the general manager, or the team that works with Monchi, feature in the piece. You can read it now by clicking here.
