Rony Lopes was presented in front of the media at the press room in the Estadio Jesús Navas, after completing his first training session as a player at Sevilla FC, under Julen Lopetegui's orders. Sevilla's eleventh signing, a Portuguese international, stated that "the first impressions have been really good, I'm here to score goals and get assists, I'm a player that wants to improve every day, with the aim of working hard and helping the team. I want to thank everyone who has helped me to be here today".

Rony Lopes, who already knows his teammates, seemed very motivated and is fully aware of his objectvies here at Sevilla: "I'm here to win trophies and to help Sevilla FC, it's a very big club in both Spain and Europe. It's a very good side, with very good players and a very good manager too, who has told me already about the style of play and what he wants from me. I'm very happy with him".
"I think I am going to learn a lot here and I hope I will settle in quickly"
After spending time in the Premier League and in Ligue 1, he's arrived in Spain: "For me LaLiga is one of the best leagues, I've always had the ambition of playing here, I'll have to settle in and I hope it's done quickly. Spanish football is technical and high-paced, I think I am going to learn a lot here".
"Even at Manchester City I ended up with Spanish and Argentinian players, and on many occasions I would do the translation into English", he commented about his good level of Spanish.
Finally, he explained the story behind his nickname: "Rony comes from when I was little, my first coach called me Ronaldo and from there it became Rony".
