THE TOTAL COST OF SEVILLA FC'S SQUAD IS THE FOURTH HIGHEST IN LALIGA

Now that that summer transfer window has shut, just like every year now, LaLiga have published figures regarding the total sum of clubs' squads for the upcoming season for both clubs in LaLiga Santander and LaLiga Smartbank. This year, the total cost of Sevilla FC's squad is 185,166,000 euros. This marks a significant increase with respect to last year's figure of 162,783,000 euros. This figure is measured by the total amount a club spends on players, management staff, coaches and fitness coaches, in addition to coaches for the reserve teams, youth teams and other sections of the club. 

FC Barcelona and Real Madrid lead the way once again, with Atlético de Madrid occupying third position behind them. In fourth place is Sevilla FC, who are ahead of Valencia CF in 5th place. The rest of the top 10 consists of Villarreal CF, Athletic Club, Real Betis and Real Sociedad. LaLiga states that this total figure includes fixed and variable salaries, social security, collective bonuses, expenses on players and staff coming into the team (inlcuding commission for agents), as well as repayments - the money set aside to pay players each year, taking into account the number of years on their contract.
