Portuguese centre-back, Daniel Carriço, spoke to the press after the defeat in the Camp Nou to FC Barcelona: "When analysing the game, we were very good for the first twenty minutes. We had a lot of opportunities, but we have to be more clinical because they can create something out of nothing. In their first three chances, they scored three times. Perhaps we would have had to have been more convincing as soon as they scored the first: to keep a cool head and keep things tight so that they couldn't cause us any more harm. You can't afford the concede three goals in ten minutes. Afterwards, we showed a lot of character. In the second half, we changed our system and we pressed higher. We stole the ball further up the field, and had opportunities to hurt them. At the end, we weren't clinical enough to score against them. Then, Messi scored the free-kick and that ended the game".

Carriço regretted the fact the team weren't clinical in a game where "we didn't deserve to be three goals down at half time. We had to be switched on throughout the whole game. They scored three goals in ten minutes and this killed the game off". For Carriço, this was the key as "they weren't posing too much of a threat. The game was defined by those ten minutes in which we didn't know how to manage the game. We have to be more clinical up top, and harder to break down at the back".
"We know that hardly anyone wins here at the Camp Nou. In the Champions League game, Inter played extremely well and still didn't win. It's difficult because they are so clinical. They can create something out of nothing".
