Sevilla FC are continuing to prepare for Sunday's match against Levante UD. With the team training this evening, coach Julen Lopetegui went by the SFC Radio studio this afternoon to give a small interview, and he assured right from the off that "we are really looking forward to this game. The times before and after an international break are always quite tricky. The team that is visiting Nervión this weekend are a tough team to break down when they're the away side, as they regularly change their way of playing".
Lopetegui also spoke about the physical state of some of his players, taking into account the amount of international fixtures they were involved in: "we have to try and make sure that everyone is ready for this game, for which our opponent has been preparing for two weeks with their full squad". He went on to speak some more about Paco López's troops: "For us, the game is even more difficult because this team, away from home, is brave and plays well. They look to break you down in different ways and we must be ready to give everything".
"We have to try to create chances and not allow them to score"
Lopetegui, who hails from the Basque country, knows that a congested fixture list is coming up, but was only in the mood to speak about Sunday's encounter: "The only important thing every week is the next game. We are giving all of our attention to the game against Levante UD, and we are extremely excited to prepare for it". In addition, he congratulated his international strikers who managed to find the back of the net over the international break: "We are always happy when our players perform well. Strikers are most happy when they are scoring, and it's important for them to do so".
To finish off, he spoke about the importance of creating opportunities to enable his strikers to score goals: "Goals are the key to football. We have to try to create and score goals, whilst not conceding any at the same time. I'm positive the team is going to improve, and that some of the things that are happening or maybe not happening right now for some players, will change or happen for them in the future".
