Sevilla FC's Sporting DIrector, Monchi, gave a small interview for the media this afternoon in Luxembourg, the scene of tonight's UEFA Europa League fixture: "Easy is definitely something that this game isn't. There's a lot at stake. We can secure qualification tonight and we are favourites to do so. We have to be concentrated and give the opposition the respect they deserve. They have previous when it comes to performing well against good teams. We are going all out to make it four wins from four".
MONCHI: "IT'S ALWAYS GREAT TO PLAY A EUROPEAN MATCH"
The squad was made with this objective in mind: to try to be able to compete in all competitions for the whole year with the same willingness to win in all games. The idea is not to have a starting XI and a bench, but to have all the players ready to play at whatever moment they are needed. Today, some players will feature who didn't play last Saturday, but will also have players who will feature in the upcoming fixture on Sunday. The important thing is that the team doesn't wear itself out", Monchi said concerning the squad as a whole.
"A game in a competition which we've won on multiple occasions is never going to be a bad thing for us"
Speaking about the state of the pitch at the Stade Josy Barthel, a place where a lot of rain has fallen over the past number of days, Monchi said that "the pitch isn't brilliant but we'll have to adjust to that. We're not going to achieve anything by speaking bad about it and we just hope that it doesn't rain much more today".
"The game is well received by all because it means we are playing in Europe. Playing a game in the UEFA Europa League, a competition that has given us so much happiness over the years and one which we've won on multiple occasions is never going to be a bad thing for us. It would be a lack of respect if we didn't give it everything we have. We have to approach the game with all the energy and excitement possible".
