Julen Lopetegui, Sevilla FC's head coach, this afternoon gave his official press conference before Matchday 14 in La Liga against Real Valladolid. The boss spoke after the training session today: "Everyone is fit and available after their international mathces. We've had two training sessions together and everything is set in place in this aspect".
Lopetegui spoke about Sunday's fixture at the José Zorrilla: "The difficulty of Sunday's game is beyond doubt. Valladolid have won their last two games at home comfortably. They play good football and carry out their manager's instructions perfectly. We have to be very clear in what we're doing so that we're ready to face them come Sunday".
"I'm only focusing on Valladolid and those three points"
"We've forgotten what happened two weeks ago. We have to focus on what's ahead. We have enough experience to know that we must give 100% in every game. Valladolid have an interesting team with very good players and we have to be prepared. I'm only focusing on Valladolid and those three points".
Lopetegui also wanted to say a few things about what's happened over the past number of days with the national team: "I wish Robert Moreno all the best of luck, and I'm delighted for Luis Enrique that he's strong enough and has the right energy to resume his job as manager of the national side".
"We have to give them a lot of respect, as well as being ambitious ourselves"
Lopetegui continued: "We're in November, and there's a lot of football left to be played. We have to improve on a lot of aspects of our game, and think about competitions that give us a lot of excitement. We're focused on not deviating from what our form of late has been. We have to give the opponent a lot of respect, as well as being ambitious ourselves".
"In La Liga, you're always playing in different situations and at different times; and you come up against a range of teams. You must be ready to compete no matter the circumstance nor the situation. The first thing on our minds must be the opponent", he said when asked about the time and the supposed weather forecast for the match in Valladolid.
"Valladolid are a very good team, especially at home"
When asked about Ocampos, Lopetegui stated: "Lucas is available for Sunday's match. He had a minor problem which, fortunately, he overcame because he treated it well".
Lopetegui finished off the press conference by underlining that: "there's not just one answer, there's many. We have to be able to do everything well: defending and attacking. Valladolid are a very good team, especially at home".
