Sevilla FC's President, José Castro, accompanied Daniel Carriço, alongside Sporting Director Monchi, and the trophies that the Portuguese international has won on his farewell day from Nervión. José Castro didn't want to pass up on the opportunity to eulogise about the now ex-Sevilla FC player and captain: "We're here to say goodbye to our commander, Daniel Carriço, a three-time winner of the UEFA Europa League who started in the finals in Turin, Warsaw and Basel. An eternal legend here at the Sánchez-Pizjuán".

 

"Despite the ongoing construction works, we are here today in the press room at our stadium to give a great captain, and a great champion like Dani Carriço a proper send-off in our home, alongside a lot of his teammates and the three Europa League titles he has won. As the President of Sevilla FC, I want to thank Dani for his commitment, his dedication and the determination that he has shown throughout these six and a half years... Thank you, Dani, for being an example to all of your teammates during your time here".

The President rounded off his short but powerful speech by stating that: "After six and a half years, Daniel Carriço will bring to an end his successful life in Nervión. This is merely a 'see you later', because everyone that knows him knows that the bond between Carriço and Sevilla FC will last forever. Dani, you're leaving on the best of terms as you are a Nervión great. We wish you the best of luck on your new adventure".
