JESÚS NAVAS HAS NOW WON MORE TROPHIES AT THE CLUB THAN ANY OTHER PLAYER

As he said in his interview at full time on Friday night, as Sevilla FC beat Inter to win the UEFA Europa League for the sixth time: "My teammates have given their all so that I can finally lift this trophy as Sevilla FC captain". An emotional Jesús Navas lifted up the Europa League trophy in Cologne, another European trophy for the trophy cabinet in Nervión. It was his first trophy as captain, something which he said he still needed to do. Moreover, this gesture, once again, gave him a place in history as a Blanquirrojo.

The man from Los Palacios has now won more trophy as a Sevilla FC player than anyone else. He had been tied on six with other legends such as Palop, Kanouté, Escudé, Rentado Adriano and Luis Fabiano, but the win over Inter means he now has seven: three UEFA Europa League trophies, two in the Copa del Rey, one UEFA Super Cup and one Spanish Super Cup. He has picked up those seven trophies from eleven finals.

He has won 7 of his 11 finals at the club, a 64% success rate

The number 16 has won 64% of the finals that he has played for Sevilla FC, only losing against AC Milan in the UEFA Super Cup in 2007, and against FC Barcelona in the 2018 Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup in both 2010 and 2018. He will look to improve on that overall record on Thursday 24th September, in the UEFA Super Cup against Bayern Munich in Budapest. 

Navas, aged 34, who already holds the records for most appearances at the club, most top-flight appearances and most wins, effectively has no more records to beat as a Sevillista. It almost appears impossible to improve on, but that certainly will not be the mindset of the club captain.
