Monchi, General Sporting Director of Sevilla FC, was present to say farewell to Éver Banega, who officially leaves the Nervionenses after five years at the club, where he finished his second spell in the best way possible, by lifting the UEFA Europa League in Cologne. This is what Monchi had to say about the Argentine:
"Little more can be added to what the President has said. He has perfectly defined what we Sevillistas and those responsible for the club feel. I would like to highlight three things about Éver: as a person, Éver is a good guy and someone who, when he looks at you in the face, you know he is really doing it. I'll highlight a virtue that I love about Éver, and that is that he likes and knows a lot about football. It's something I'll stick with, he always understands and knows the player that's coming and I wanted to highlight it today.
And finally I'll remember the professional, and I am going to be forgiven by all the players who have been here for many years and with a lot of quality, Freddy, Dani, José Antonio, Ivan... forgive me, but in my 20 years as a sporting director, the player with the most quality I have seen is here on my right. Thank you for your commitment and for leading through difficult times, as well as helping us get the sixth one here".
