Julen Lopetegui, Sevilla FC manager, spoke after his team reached the last 16 of the Copa del Rey after an extra-time win over CD Leganés. Lopetegui began by stating "these matches are always tough, each one is a final. We've achieved our aim, which was to get through to the next round.
LOPETEGUI: "THESE MATCHES ARE ALWAYS TOUGH, EACH ONE IS A FINAL"
"The reality is that this competition is very difficult with this system, there's little difference between players in the First and Second Divisions. In a match, everything is tough, and we bigger sides are expected to go through, but we have to do it with many difficulties. Today we've done that", continued the manager.
Lopetegui then spoke about Lucas Ocampos, the goalscorer tonight: "It is always important that your players score, it's important for their confidence and for the team. Lucas's goal was important because we were in extra-time and it has allowed us to progress".
Finally, the manager spoke about the cup exit of Deportivo Alavés, our next opponents in the league, who lost 5-0 against UD Almería: "That all plays against you in the next match. We're going to have a very difficult match in Vitoria and we have to prepare very well for it".
