EN-NESYRI, THE TOP SCORER IN LALIGA IN 2021, WITH EIGHT GOALS

Sevilla FC won their seventh match in a row last night at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán, after a 3-0 win at home to Getafe CF. However, the night was bittersweet, as Lucas Ocampos went off injured after a shocking challenge from Djené. Despite the worries about the Argentine, the Nervionenses once again produced sensational numbers after another LaLiga matchday, with a ninth league clean sheet of the season and their seventh win in a row in all competitions. On an individual level, however, it is Youssef En-Nesyri. 

After scoring in the 89th minute last night, the Moroccan striker scored his thirteenth league goal of the season, just one less than Luis Suárez, who is currently the league's top scorer. En-Nesyri had to dig deep to get his goal, after hitting the bar from distance and having another goal disallowed by VAR due to the fact that Franco Vázquez had strayed offside, but the striker got his reward late on, as he rounded the keeper after being played in by Fernando.

However, in terms of this calendar year, 2021, En-Nesyri leads the way for goals in LaLiga. The Moroccan already has eight goals, two more than Luis Suárez, with six, and three more than Messi, who has five. As well as his four goals in the UEFA Champions League, En-Nesyri has scored seventeen times for Sevilla FC this season. Of course, he fully deserved to win the LaLiga Player of the Month Award for January.
