With the completion of the main stand of the Jesús Navas Stadium, Sevilla FC have kept the momentum on improving the sports village with the beginning of construction of a new area exclusively for the first team. The work was analysed last week by Club President José Castro and Sporting Director Monchi as they were informed on the progress by Head of Facilities, Santiago Balbontín.

Work is already being carried out on the area, located to the south of the sports village, where three pitches exclusively for first-team use are scheduled to be available for the start of the season. Alongside them, a water reservoir will be built which will supply these three pitches with water picked up from the cover of the Jesús Navas Stadium and the new first-team building. Alongside this new construction and behind Gol Norte of the Jesús Navas Stadium, work will being imminently on a new multimedia space for the Club's media.

A water reservoir and a multimedia space for the Club's media is also being built

The new building for first-team use will have underground parking for 40 vehicles and a ground floor with a dressing room, canteen, medical centre, storage space, offices, video rooms and other rooms for the realisation of first-team activities. The top floor will have 40 rooms: 30 of which will be for individual use and another 10 double rooms, which will allow the team to rest.

Two of the three pitches will have the exact dimensions of the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán

This new zone of the sports village will have individual access at the main entrance and will also be connected to the Jesús Navas Stadium. There will also be a waiting room for Club media who cover first-team training. This work, presented in September 2019, was intended to commence in 2020, but it had to be postponed for a year due to the uncertainty arising from the pandemic. If everything goes to plan, the new area will be completely ready for the 2022/2023 season.
