JOSÉ CASTRO: 'WE ARE AMBITIOUS AND WE WANT TO WIN EVERYTHING'

The president spoke about the transfer market, and in particular on Koundé's future with the club: 'We did receive an offer for him, but it was rejected. At the moment, there is no offer on the table for him. If one does come in, of course we will study and analyse it, as always. If a sufficient offer came in, we would only do it providing that it can be beneficial for the club so it can continue improving and having success.' Good results are a reward for hard work and ambition. This is our secret weapon. We have a great coach with a talented squad that is constantly improving and evolving. We are ambitious and we want to win everything. We want to win as many things as we can in all three tournaments. We're not just saying this. The proof is in the planning and the economic investments that we are making. We know that we are competing against teams that have bigger funds and budgets than us. But we have something that the others simply don't have, we make the most of what we have.'

The president also stated that the club did not need to get rid of any player: 'The club does not need to sell any player. It will only sell if a sufficient offer comes in which can help the team to continue to grow and improve.' It is an ambitious project that is going from strength to strength: 'We want the club to be successful both on a sporting level and an economic one too. We are extremely dedicated to this project at the club, and we want to ensure that Sevilla FC can continue to grow and make all the fans happy.'

Castro was also slightly worried that three Argentinian players from the club had been called up for international duty: 'There will be a meeting to try and resolve the matter because it is quite worrying for us. We have three players who have been called up but ideally, we want them here with us so that they can play against Barcelona. I really hope it can get sorted.' He also confirmed that the club has received a request for an Extraordinary General Meeting: 'They've requested an EGM, but at the moment, there are more important issues. We are focused on the next game against Elche on Saturday, and we want to complete the squad so it can continue improving. While people can see what we are doing here at the club, others want to have an EGM, which is not the utmost priority. If anything, it creates a lot of instability within the club.
