Sevilla FC knows which three rivals it will come up against in the Champions League group stage. Julen Lopetegui's team will not have too much travelling to do in Group G. They have played against LOSC Lille and FC Salzburg before, whereas it will be the first time against Wolfsburg in the competition.
SEVILLA TO FACE LOSC LILLE, FC SALZBURG AND VFL WOLFSBURG IN GROUP G IN THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE
Sevilla and Lille have faced each other twice before, both times in the Europa League in consecutive seasons. They came up against each other in the Europa League group stage in 2004/05, with Lille winning 1-0. One year later would see Sevilla lifting their first Europa League trophy, having beaten Lille in the last-sixteen stage of the competition.
There has only been one duel against the Austrian giant in recent years. This match also took place in the Europa League during the 2008/09 season, which earned them a place in the group stages. They beat Salzburg 0-2 in the first-leg with Kanouté scoring twice, and then the same result at home with goals from Capel and Adriano. Sevilla have not previously come up against Wolfsburg, and the last time the team travelled to Germany was to lift the Europa League trophy last summer.
The group stage fixture calendar will be announced on midday on Saturday once the Europa League and the Europa Conference League groups have also been drawn.
