Today, the unveiling of our sixth summer signing, Thomas Delaney, took place. The Danish international began by speaking about the negotiations that brought about his arrival: "I've been waiting for this moment for a long time. As everybody knows, it took some time but two days ago I got the message, so I had to pack my stuff, say goodbye to my teammates and fly over here. It was very calm for a week, with nothing happening, and then out of nowhere I had to leave, but I was prepared and it's what I wanted".
DELANEY: "SEVILLA ARE A BIG CLUB WITH TOP PLAYERS"
Of course, a Dane coming to Seville from Germany needs time to adapt to the climate, especially in summer, something that Delaney is fully aware of: "It was raining for a week in Germany before I came here, and it's warm. I was told when I came that I was very lucky, because when Augustinsson arrived it was over 40 degrees. I have to get used to it, training is a bit harder for me because I'm not used to it, but that's acclimatisation, it's going to work out fine. For me, Sevilla are a big club, a Champions League club, they've got top players. At this level, you meet some great players and Sevilla definitely have them. That's why I'm here. There are some language barriers, but we all speak the language of football".
He also responded to a question about a possible debut at Elche tomorrow: "I hope so. It seems like I have a great role to play here, that's why I'm here. There are great midfielders in the team, but as I like to play, I like to be part of it both defensively and offensively". He then spoke about what type of player he is on the pitch: "I see myself as a controlling player, I like to be verbally and physically involved, and I like to have responsibility. My job is to earn the trust of my teammates and the coach, but I can do a lot of stuff. I like to do the hard work so hopefully that's where I can help the team. In the future, in the Champions League I've had a decent amount of practice, so in that regard I think I can help the team as well".

Augustinsson is a former teammate of Delaney, and the pair know each other well: "It goes way back, I think it must have been 2015 when he came to Copenhagen. We were actually sold together to Werder Bremen, I joined half a year later and he joined one year after. It's very good, our wives are very close, we have been in contact ever since Werder Bremen when we took our different ways. When I saw that Lude came here, it made me even more interested, because it's a change of culture and I have to adapt. Family is a big part of that, so that makes my family life better, it's definitely going to make me a better football player".
His international teammates were very positive about the club and the city: "The only time I talked to Poulsen about Sevilla was when I was here, I haven't talked to him about Sevilla since. I talked to Simon Kjaer, I called him a couple of days ago to ask about how it was, and he was very positive. He might not have had the longest period of time here but he was very happy. That helped, but I think I decided before that, it only helps when a good friend of yours said it's a good step. All things considered, I was pretty clear in my mind I was up for the challenge".
"It goes way back with Augustinsson, that makes my family life better"
Delaney did not follow yesterday's Champions League draw, but he offered his thoughts on the group: "I've been so busy that I didn't even know there was a draw. It's a good group for us. When I was at Copenhagen I wanted to meet the big teams, now I want to succeed and go through, and I see this group as a good chance for us. I think we have a great team and a big squad, that's important, that's how you perform very well. We don't have to travel too far, that's nice as well".
To finish, he focused on tomorrow's trip to Elche instead of mentioning a title challenge: "To be honest, there are bigger teams in LaLiga, Barcelona and Madrid will always be the favourites, but last year was a great season. I'm here to have a great season as well, but I think for a team like Sevilla, you can't talk about all that. We need to win tomorrow, first of all, and compete in all competitions".
