Sevilla FC ran riot in the first 25 minutes, with Lato's own goal sandwiched between goals from Papu Gómez and Rafa Mir
The Sevilla onslaught did not stop there. Not even midway through the first half, Fernando played a delightful through ball to Rafa Mir, who had the beating of Alderete and calmly clipped the ball over the onrushing Mamardashvili. The hosts were now three goals to the good after barely twenty minutes. The Sánchez-Pizjuán was bouncing at this point, and they would go on to help the team after Valencia pulled one back with basically their first chance. Lato's rebound from a free kick was deflected past Bono by Diego Carlos on the half hour mark.
The second half began with Bordalás making changes to his side, as they looked to pull a second goal back and mount an unlikely comeback after a dominant first half by the hosts. Foulquier had their first chance of the half inside a minute, after a good move down the right flank, but his tame shot did not even trouble Bono. Sevilla had a big chance to kill the match off on the hour mark, with two substitutes nearly combining to score the fourth. Jesús Navas, on for Montiel, found En-Nesyri, on for Rafa Mir, with a fine cross, but the Moroccan headed straight at Mamardashvili.
En-Nesyri and Papu Gómez both had chances to score the fourth thanks to some accurate Jesús Navas crosses
With the match reaching its conclusion, Julen Lopetegui's side were in clear control, with the visitors tiring, and again had a real opportunity to extend their lead. Once again, Jesús Navas whipped in a perfect cross, this time to the edge of the six-yard box, but unfortunately Papu Gómez could only send his effort high over the crossbar. All in all, a third win for the team in their fifth LaLiga match of the season, with the team unbeaten on 11 points. The next clash is in less than 72 hours, again at home, against RCD Espanyol on Saturday evening.
