The previous benches had a capacity of 15 team members and LaLiga rules need this number to be 23 due to the increase of squad sizes to 23 and not being able to place the players in the stands following the return of fans. Although the new benches come with the 20 places required it has the option of increasing this to 21 if required. 12 substitutes, the coach, the assistant coach, the physical trainer, the goalkeeper goal, the team delegate, a medic, a physiotherapist or medical assistant are those who have a place, with the usual additional bench for up to five coaches situated very close to the new model.
