On Sunday Jorge Paradela was at the Marca Sport Weekend to talk about Sevilla FC as a brand. The general; business director, who was accompanied by president José Castro to the event, highlighted firstly the growth of the club. "Sevilla FC has become a global brand. We have 280 million fans in the world. We should be able to attract brands that look across the world. We want to consolidate the international strategy of the club, from long-term sponsorships to developing a sustainable strategy. We want to continue evolving club media. We really want to mobilise these social spaces. I like to speak in relative terms. Currently, our income from marketing and sponsorship makes up a quarter of the total income. We want this to reach a third. The budget for the 2021/22 season is above 200 million euros. We are in the UEFA club ranking between 10th and 11th and the value of our brand is 23rd. There is a gap but my goal is to close it. I want to be in the top 15 most valuable club brands in the next three to five years."

In terms of his philosophy, he underlined the 'never give up. "We have changed it from never surrender to never give up. Sevilla FC aspires to the highest goals and to break the status quo. It is in an extraordinarily rich position. I have found that the philosophy of never giving up lives in every area of the club, meaning that it is the work culture. In the coaching, the facilities, the business and sporting parts know that they are working towards a better end."

Another key element is international expansion. Paradela spoke about taking on different countries. "La Liga are helping us, clearly there are opportunities that are unquestionable. China, with an incredible level of following and also in India, where we have the real ingredients to continue growing strongly and other markets such as the United States and Mexico. All of this requires resources, but also you don't want to bite off more than you can chew, as there are also options in Latin America and in Africa. We have many followers in Morocco." To close, he spoke about the new experience of supporters with the team and Sevilla compared to previously: "Sevilla have a total of 45 million followers on social media. Young people follow players and clubs, which is different to previous generations, who just followed a club. They have very short attention spans. They watch the games while discussing them on social media and all of this opens up new opportunities. It is not a negative change."
