Sevilla FC will continue their European journey this season in the UEFA Europa League - a trophy that appears six times in the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán trophy cabinet and the final of this season's edition will be held at that very stadium. Julen Lopetegui's team will enter the draw for the newly-created knockout round play-off in which the eight teams dropping down from the Champions League play against the eight teams who finished second in their group over two legs.
Two teams from the same country can't be drawn together and the eight winners will progress to the Round of 16 where they will play the eight teams who finished first in the group stage. The Champions League teams will play the first leg at home in this round, while in the next one the teams who finished first in the group will have that advantage. An important point to note this season is that away goals no longer count. The first leg will take place on Thursday 17th February and the second on the 24th. The teams for the draw are as follows:
Seeded: Rangers FC, SSC Napoli, Olympiacos FC, SS Lazio, SC Braga, GNK Dinamo Zagreb, Real Betis and Real Sociedad.
Non seeded: FC Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig, FC Porto, Sevilla FC, FC Sheriff Tiraspol, FC Zenit and Atalanta BC.
