Sevilla FC has carried out antigen and PCR tests to detect cases of COVID-19 in the first-team squad and coaching staff, now that the mini Christmas holidays have finished. These tests have revealed that, at the moment, there are three positive cases in the squad, two of whom had already tested positive during the holidays.
Those players are asymptomatic and are isolating at home until they are able to rejoin the squad, once their quarantine period is over.
Update: A fourth positive case was detected in tests carried out before Wednesday's training session. The player is also asymptomatic and isolating at home.
Update (30/12/21): A fifth case has been detected on Thursday morning. As with the other cases, the player is also asymptomatic and isolating at home.
Update (31/12/21): Tests carried out this morning have revealed two positive cases, bringing the tally since the return to training on Tuesday to seven. The players are asymptomatic and isolating at home.
