2-1: THE RESERVES DON'T FALTER AGAINST THE LEADERS AND EARNS A VALUABLE VICTORY AGAINST VILLARREAL

Goals from Zarzana and Nacho Quintana were enough for Sevilla Atlético to see off current league leaders, Villarreal 'B', at the Jesús Navas stadium

Hard work, faith and courage are all the qualities Sevilla Atlético showed in the victory against Villarreal 'B' under the floodlights of the Jesús Navas stadium. In a thrilling match for Alejandro Acejo's boys, Zarzana and Nacho Quintana slotted home the decisive goals for Sevilla Atlético, who after beating the leaders, see themselves go six games unbeaten at home.

It wasn't to be the dream start for Sevilla Atlético as Xavi Sintes, after five minutes of the game, was forced off due to an injury suffered in a challenge with Luismi Cruz, certainly a start that would set the tone for the game. Zarzana put the reserves in front with a brilliant individual goal coming inside from the right wing and to eventually slot home between the goalkeeper's legs. There still hadn't between ten minutes on the clock and Sevilla Atlético were already in the lead against the side that topped the table.

Far from surrendering, the team led by Alejandro Acejo would look to further extend the scoreline. Jörgensen was put under amounted pressure when a powerful shot from Capi went towards the Villarreal goal. As the game went on, the confidence of the visitors was growing as they started to form a few chances in the Sevilla Atlético penalty area. In the midweek game Sevilla goalkeeper, Javi Díaz, would keep proceedings intact after a preventing Jackson from scoring in a huge one on one chance for the yellows. However, the Sevilla keeper could do nothing to prevent the equalising goal from Nikita that would settle in the top corner of the goal. Before the end of the first forty-five, Valentino went close with a header after a well-taken corner from Luismi.

Nacho Quintana put the home side back in front with a back-heel finish

In the second half, Sevilla Atlético went back out on to the pitch in search of the lead. Nacho Quintana would be the player to send Sevilla back into the lead after some great work from Zarzana on the right-hand side. Zarzana placed the ball in the danger zone of the area for Quintana to lapse on to and put the reserves back in front with a beautiful back-heel finish.

The reserves worked tirelessly in both defence and attack in the second half, keeping the scoreline in at 2-1. The visitors were once again denied by the brilliance of Díaz in goal nearer to the end of the match. The Sevilla fans saw Musa Drammeh get his first minutes in the Sevilla jersey in the closing stages of the game.
