As the half progressed both teams were evenly matched in Heliópolis. Lara couldn't take advantage of a mistake in Sevilla Atlético's build-up play, with Carlos Álvarez in the offensive third who began to break towards the home side's area. Then Adrián Peral had a powerful shot that went high and could also not find the goal. In the final moments of the first half, Tavares picked up a second yellow, leaving the Betis reserve side with ten men.
Nacho Quintana scored the only goal fo the game
A great start to the second half allowed Sevilla Atlético, through Nacho Quintana to take the lead after a good assist from Juan Maria. The Sevilla central midfielder scored with a first time shot from inside the area to put Sevilla Atlético ahead but it wouldn't stop their search for a second goal. The home side's response was a header from Luis Martínez after a free kick from Marc Baró.
In the closing stages of the second half, Ismael Salguero made his debut. Alejandro Acejo's side would also finish the game with ten men after Pablo Pérez, after coming on from the bench, went off injured. Sevilla Atlético then came together to secure the win in the reserve derby on the nineteenth matchday of the season.
