MUNIR: POTENTIAL AND QUALITY FOR THE FRONT-LINE

Sevilla FC and FC Barcelona have reached an agreement in principle for the transfer of Munir El Haddadi to the Nervionenses, provided the Barcelona forward signs his contract and passes a medical. 

Born 23 years ago in Madrid, Munir arrives with an impressive footballing CV - one he first started building in the 13/14 season, when top goalscorer in the UEFA Youth League. Though only a youth player, Munir debuted the very same season with Barcelona's reserve side in the second-tier of Spanish football, scoring four goals in eleven matches. The following season was to be Munir's breakout, as in addition to his four goals in 17 matches with Barcelona's B team, Munir made 16 appearances with the First Team - ten in La Liga (scoring one goal), three in the Champions League and three in the Copa del Rey. 

In two loan spells with Valencia and Alavés respectively he scored 22 goals

He would continue picking up minutes despite enormous competition in the 15/16 season, when he made 15 league appearances (scoring three goals and making three assists), five Copa del Rey appearances (five goals), one Spanish Super Cup appearance and one FIFA Club World Cup appearance before being loaned to Valencia CF. At Mestalla, Munir was a permanent fixture, making 34 La Liga appearances (six goals and three assists), three Copa del Rey appearances (one goal), as well as two Spanish Super Cup appearances with Barcelona just before joining on loan (one goal). 

Last season, the forward was once again loaned out, this time to Deportivo Alavés, where he once again played a prominent role - scoring 14 goals and making seven assists in 37 appearances. In the first half of this season with Barcelona, Munir has made eleven appearances, scoring two goals and making one assist. On the international stage, Munir kicked off his Spain career with a debut for the U-21s in the 14/15 season; four days later, he would win his first full cap under the instruction of Vicente del Bosque against Macedonia (a European qualifier for France 2016). On that night, he became the 14th youngest player to win a Spain cap - having turned 19 just one week earlier.
