ARGENTINA SEAL THEIR SPOT AT QATAR WITH ACUÑA STARTING AGAINST BRAZIL

In the early hours of Wednesday morning, Argentina added themselves to the list of teams that will be at the 2022 Qatar World Cup. The White and Sky Blues, with Marcos Acuña starting at left back, drew 0-0 against Brazil, who had already qualified. The defender played the whole match while Gonzalo Montiel was not brought on by Scaloni and Papu Gómez had been ruled out through injury. 

Therefore, with five games still to play, Argentina have sealed second place in South American qualification from the four direct spots available for the World Cup. They are currently in second place with 29 points, behind the leader Brazil who are on 35.
