Argentina drew 0-0 in the early hours of Friday morning against Paraguay, in an important game for qualification for the Qatar World Cup next year. In Asunción, the Argentina national team could not break the deadlock, in a game in which Marcos Acuña started from the beginning as a left back in the team of Scaloni. The Sevilla player, however, was substituted in the second half on 57 minutes, as a precaution, as confirmed by the south American coach after the end of the game.
As for Papu Gómez, he came onto the pitch in the 67th minute, replacing Rodrigo de Paul, while Montiel didn't get any minutes this time around. Argentina are second in the standings on 19 points after nine games have been played.
