Banega made his 200th appearance for Sevilla against Real Madrid on Sunday

Ever Banega highlighted the work the team did during Sunday's match against Real Madrid in the Sánchez-Pizjuán, where he also stated that they "fought until the end; however, we never felt like we had control of the game, but that being said they are a tough team who had been wounded from previous results. It was an even game and we are disappointed with the defeat, but now we have to continue working hard. These sorts of games come down to finest of margins, so we must improve. It's a tough one to take, but we must pick ourselves up and keep going. It's only just begun".

He also went on to say: "Even though we didn't play as well as we did in other games, we were always prepared to fight and help each other, but these are difficult games. A draw would have been a fair result".

Banega made his 200th appearance in a Sevilla shirt during the match: "Unfortunately it couldn't end in a victory, but of course I am proud to have played so many times for this club. I will continue to give my all every time I put this shirt on".
