BANEGA: "WE NEED TO FOCUS ON RECOVERING AHEAD OF THIS WEEKEND'S MATCH AGAINST VALENCIA"

Éver Banega was another of the Sevilla FC side to speak to the press following the important win over Atheltic on Saturday: "We needed these two important victories to regain ground in the table. The other day changes were made to the team, but no one was made to feel as though they were more important than another. Every member of the team had to be ready to play if called on. We managed to bag a victory a few days ago and today we got another, but this time at home". 

Following an impressive first-half, the Sevilla FC player recognised that the team slowed down slightly: "We played 45 minutes of good, aggressive football. It's fair to say that in the second half we took our foot off the pedal slightly after the second goal. We should have gone for the third, but it was ok that we finished with scoreline as it was. Playing mid-week matches takes its toll, but that isn't an excuse. We are going to focus on recovering as soon as possible and begin preparing for the match against Valencia. We've still got a lot of matches whereby we can continue to fight and climb higher".
