It had been a tough time since Budapest. Youssef En-Nesyri rued his miss in the defeat to Bayern Munich in the UEFA Super Cup. The Moroccan raced through, clear on goal, but was not able to put the ball past Manuel Neuer. The striker played the situation over in his head so much that the coaching staff and his teammates had to especially comfort him in the following days. He had already scored two goals this season, the injury-time winner against Levante and the opener last Saturday at the San Mamés which unfortunately did not give the win to Sevilla after Bilbao turned the match around in the last quarter.

Youssef En-Nesyri needed a match like last night's. The striker had not had much game time in the Champions League, but with the lights on him last night, without knowing it, the striker would have his greatest night yet as a Sevilla player. At Stamford Bridge he only played the last ten minutes, against Rennes only five. Not enough time to leave his mark, something he was able to do last night after coming on for the last half-hour, replacing Joan Jordán with the team 2-1 down.

Nine minutes later, following good pressing alongside De Jong, the Moroccan made the most of Kaio's mistake to rush through on goal and beat Safonov in a one-on-one. A left-footed strike to equalise, and the winner would come through his right foot. Three minutes separated the goals, and the striker had only been on the pitch twelve minutes. It was a perfect night for the Moroccan, who now has ten goals for the club. Last night's was his second brace for the club, the first also coming in a 3-2 comeback against Osasuna, the last match to be played at the Sánchez-Pizjuán with fans. It is the first time En-Nesyri has scored two games in a row and he is the team's top scorer this season with four goals, ahead of De Jong and Rakitić who have three.
