FIFA announced on Wednesday the final shortlist of candidates for The Best Goalkeeper 2022 award, which recognises the most outstanding goalkeeper from 8 August 2021 to 18 December 2022. The shortlist includes Sevilla goalkeeper Yassine Bono, who is a candidate for the prestigious award alongside Belgian and Real Madrid player Thibaut Courtois and Aston Villa and Argentina's Emiliano Martinez. The other two official candidates, Brazil's Ederson (Manchester City) and Alisson (Liverpool), have dropped out of the running.
These five candidates were chosen by a panel of experts and have been put to the vote by an international jury, comprising all the men's national coaches, all the captains of those teams, a committee of journalists and fans, via the FIFA website. The winner will be announced at a ceremony in Paris on Monday 27th February.
