Yassine Bono was the star of the show in Saturday's draw against Real Valladolid. The goalkeeper, who scored an equaliser with the last kick of the match at the José Zorrilla, spoke to the club's official media in the aftermath. He began with a general analysis of the match: "It was a difficult match because of the context, but we played well and the penalty ruined it a bit for us. In the second half we kept going until we got our reward".
BONO: "I AM VERY THANKFUL FOR THE GOAL, IT'S A DIFFICULT FEELING TO DESCRIBE"
The goalkeeper then spoke about his late, crucial intervention, and spoke about how he had nearly scored at the same stadium while he was playing for Girona: "Two years ago I came close to scoring here with Girona, and that memory came back to me, so I could go up with the manager's permission. The goal fell to me and I am very thankful". The Moroccan international then spoke about his emotions after his strike: "It's a difficult feeling to describe because I didn't know how to celebrate it. It's very strange, but, well, my teammates are happy because we deserved more".
The goalkeeper will now go on international duty with his compatriots Munir El Haddadi and Youssef En-Nesyri: "We are well on our way to qualification and there are two important matches left".
