CAPARRÓS: "THE BOARD IS HERE, IT'S BEEN WORKING HARD AND HASN'T STOPPED"

Joaquín Caparrós kept things short and sweet at his presentation as Sevilla FC's director of football, thanking everyone but also giving a warning: "I'm excited and satisfied. I thank the Club, Chairman and Board members once again for thinking of me. But I have to say that the board team is here in front of me in the first row. Sometimes that flies around but Sevilla has one of the best boards in Europe and the world. They're always here. They work all year round and they haven't stopped. In the time I've been here they haven't stopped giving me information. We have to help ourselves, they need to help me and I need to help them. We have to make a team. We have one here and it shows". 

On the importance of the academy, he said it will be a priority: "This goes step by step. We have to create a team ready to play in the Champions League and to be up there in the league. Then competition and demands will do the talking because all teams are getting ready. We're going to help the coach and we're going to try to improve this magnificent team because we're demanding and we want more. We're aware that there's a lot of talent down there and this is where champions come from. Two are going to play in the Champions League Final tomorrow. We develop them well here and there's a good eye for it. It has to be syncronised with important players so we can aspire to everything". 

He didn't want to talk about the managerial role: "That's their job. The person who comes will be the ideal coach and we're going to support them by creating a united atmosphere and conveying the greatness of the Club. It will be announced at the right moment but we don't need to rush because the work is all done. There are people in charge of that here and they've been working all year to organise it. The coach will just have to choose whether he wants this option or that. We're going to wait and everything is open in the market. As for managers, there are lots".
