Joaquín Caparrós ended his post-match conference at the José Zorrilla by clearing up some rumours that had emerged regarding his health. Accompanied by the president, José Castro, and the Sporting Director, Monchi, Caparrós wanted to transmit calm. 'I've always said that my blood runs red but it seems that my white blood cells weren't too happy with that. I have been diagnosed with chronic leukaemia. It doesn't impede my work. I am going about my daily life - on a day to day level, for training. I want to enjoy my work. I want to thank the players and the chairman. I am not receiving any treatment, everyone can be assured that I am not receiving any treatment. I want to enjoy the opportunity the chairman and the board have given me. Enjoy coaching in every sense. I'm more determined than ever. What I do want to say is that I won't talk about the subject more. But I want to make sure everyone remains calm.'
