With the end of 2018 fast approaching, it is time to take stock of everything, even though, in terms of football, we're just under halfway through the season. Nevertheless, the transfer window will open soon. The club's Director of Football, Joaquín Caparrós, spoke about that and much more on Radio Marca's Directo Marca Sevilla: 'If we don't bring anyone in, we don't want to let anyone go either. Our idea is that if someone is coming in, the sooner the better, but it's not easy. It has to be negotiated with clubs, agents and players, but nothing is simple, although it's true that we're a very attractive club to many players. We're looking for two criteria: immediate performance and potential for improvement. If no one comes in, it won't be because of financial issues.'
Speaking about assessing the club's season, the Sevilla native asked for caution: 'When you go to plan a season, the objectives are set in June or July and they'll be achieved or not be achieved in May the following year. We have to wait until the end. At the moment, we're very happy in all aspects. The coaching team, the manager, the squad... everyone is performing well.' This is an exciting time for Sevilla: 'We have the chance to aspire for great things and the ambition to finish as high as possible. I don't rule out anything in football and especially with the number of points still left to play for. I'm not ruling anyone out in this fight.'
