Joaquín Caparrós offered a concise analysis after the win against Athletic Bilbao which left the Nervionenses in sixth place and means they avoid the qualifying stages for the UEFA Europa League: 'We've finished sixth and qualify directly for the Europa League... Our objective was the Champions League but it wasn't to be and we congratulate Valencia. While it's not all positive, we've avoided the qualifying rounds for the Europa League. We're happy because we're in Europe for yet another season. It's been a very tough season and I'm happy for the players.'

'I've been very happy: This is my home, my fans, my people... It's a shame because I would've liked Bilbao to have had their reward as well but football is like this sometimes. They attacked well, they're a strong team, but it wasn't to be,' added the manager.
