"Working together, and with a bit of help, we got the second goal; a one goal lead is not much of an advantage"

Daniel Carriço, who put in a strong performance at centre-back in the league opener against Espanyol, talked about the three points gained by the team: "We knew that it was very important to start strongly, the team was very switched on and trying to make things happen. Espanyol controlled a bit of the game. They came into the game with a bit more of a rhythm, but we persisted and we scored the goal which gave us confidence for the second half. Thereafter, working together and with a little help we made it two nil".

"We knew that they were coming into the game with a bit more of a rhythm, therefore we tried to reach their level and the team put in a lot of effort".

In addition, Carriço commented that "we were looking for the second because one goal is a very slender lead to have, so we had to persist. At two nil, that gave us the insurance we needed to bring home the three points".

"Granada is team that we know, they have a homegrown manager and we have a week to put in the best work we can in the lead up to the game".
