Daniel Carriço, Sevilla FC's captain on the night, analysed the defeat at the Camp Nou: 'They had more of the ball than us in the first half, they were on top of us. In terms of chances we were even, we might have even had more. We weren't clinical and they were ruthless. In the second half we went on the attack after conceding the two goals. I think we competed but we needed to be more together.'

In such difficult grounds, it's important to not miss key chances: 'It's clear that you have to be clinical, we weren't today. We have to congratulate them. We can't let this hurt us because we have an important match in the league on Saturday.'

Sevilla miss out on a great chance after their good result at the Sánchez-Pizjuán: 'Yes, it's a lost opportunity but we knew it would be difficult against them in their ground. We knew what we had to do. We had to play the perfect game and it wasn't to be.'
